Atom Zombie Smasher

Game Title: Atom Zombie Smasher

Genre: Strategy
Source: Steam
Developer: Blendo Games
Played before: No
Playtime: 25 Minutes
Multiplayer: No
Koop: Yes
Description: You take over the command of a rescue unit to save civilians from the zombie invasion. Ok it's actually an invasion of the purple dots but with a little fantasy everything is possible. At first you start with only one helicopter, but over time you get to use more resources like landmines, Mercenaries and artillery canons. You can also an easy leveling system for your resources.
The graphics are very minimalistic and the music gets a little bit annoying after some time but this is not the kind of game that you play for hours so it's endurable.
Verdict: A fun game if you need to kill some time.
Will play again: Yes I will definitely try this one again.

This peacful town is going to be hit by the zombie hordes

When the purple dots hit the yellow ones you loose.
When the purple dots hit a mine you laugh.

It's time for some serious firepower

Get to the choppa ... 0,02 sec. faster.

Game Title: Aquaria

Description: This one is hard to put in a drawer. You explore a beautiful hand drawn underwater world with many different creatures to interact with. You have the ability to sing, throughout the game you learn more and more songs with different powers. To use this songs you have to draw a pattern which reminds me a little bit of Simon says.
Verdict: A beautiful game with innovative game play.
Will play again: Stays on the hard drive.

I like the hand drawn art style.

A bright and beautiful underwater world

 Not so bright anymore

You have to learn the right songs to use magic.

Alien Swarm

Game Title: Alien Swarm

Genre: Action
Source: Steam
Developer: Valve
Played before: No
Playtime: 26 Minutes
Multiplayer: Yes
Koop: Yes
Description: Top down coop shooter with a small tactical touch. You control a squad of 4 Marines with 4 different classes through a mission against alien hordes. In single player you can switch between the characters to use their special features. There are some minigames like hacking doors or terminals, which can be tricky in single player modus when you have to depend on the AI of your comrades.
Verdict: Surprisingly fun game. Could be a really great in coop multiplayer.
Will play again: Stays on the hard drive.

 Choose your group.

Minigames are fun, as long as your AI comrades don't get eaten while you're at it.

Keep an eye on your minimap it's also a movement detector.

Game Title: Anna

Genre: Creepy Adventure
Source: Steam
Developer: Dreampainters
Played before: No
Playtime: 50 Minutes
Multiplayer: No
Koop: No
Description: In points of game play it's a first person adventure like myst with a major creep factor. I won't spoil anything about the story or the puzzles so I limit the description to the game play and the visuals or more like the atmosphere. On the technical side the game isn’t a revelation but it is enough to make you shiver. It's the kind of game that you play alone in the dark with your headphones on. The puzzles are logical and if you pay attention to all the books, you will not get stuck to easy. Also don't forget to look inside your journal it gives you some hints on what to do next. (took me a while to figure this out). On the downside, it's often not clear what objects you can manipulate and you have to look really close not to miss something.
Verdict: You can see that the used engine isn't the freshest one. But altogether a good game for a dark, lonely and creepy winter evening.
Will play again: Stays on the hard drive for now.

You can tell by the titel screen, this is no comedy.

Oh! This looks bright and lovely.

And the award for the creepiest plant shadow goes to...

Use Axe on myself. Seems like a reasonable idea.
